A Day at the Lake

There's a lot about Tupelo that we like, but one of our most favorite things to do is go to the lake with our friends. Going out on the boat is so much fun and totally relaxing. I just put my little patch behind my ear and I'm ready to go!! Brad and Angie have a Cheetah and I must say it's quite the little animal!! (That's the boat) Our days at the lake are filled with fried chicken, cookies, skiing, tubing, and just floating along with the boat.

I have come to realize that in life, everybody has a part to play. Some are heroes, front and center. Others are more behind the scenes. And then there is another path, the one I have taken. That is the Path of the Wuss. Yes, I will gladly admit I am the wuss of our group. I am terrified of everything we do and I hafta be coaxed into doing it. It's difficult playing this part in the midst of so many risk takers, but somebody's got to do it.

But I'm pretty much the best Tuber ever!!! I get pulled straight behind the boat. Haha. I don't jump the wake or anything......no frills. Yes, I'm well aware that there are kindergateners that do more tricks than me.

What's Been Going On:

Here's an update on things that have been going on since we've been in Tupelo, just to catch you up. That way all the posts will be in order and hopefully any gaps will be filled in. Since we moved here in April we've had some pretty fun little adventures.

This is where we live. You can't really tell from the pic, but all that BEAUTIFUL landscaping.......we did it ourselves!!! I don't mean to brag, but we're pretty much the best at that!!

Scotty's Green Thumb

Scotty was the first intern to take call and since this was all new to them, him, Brad, and Ashley decided to sit together and wait on pages from the hospital.

We celebrated Scotty's 27th Birthday on August 1st. We went to Outback with our friends and came back to the house for icecream cake. His present this year.....a Patriots sweatshirt, of course!!

Rough N It

Let me just say that I like nature just as much as anybody. However, if you told me I had to become a country girl in order to live.....well I would just die. This is very important to know seeing as how a couple of weeks ago we went CAMPING with our friends Brad and Angie. Now, the first time I told somebody what our weekend plans were they're response was, "But Val, I thought you hated bugs." Don't worry, my encounters with wildlife were few and far between!! But I hafta give myself some credit and say that I was a pretty good little camper on this trip!! Except I had a case of the sniffles like you wouldn't believe. (Seriously, I ended up taking pain medicine for my sinuses before it was all over and done with.) Me and Edie were perfectly content in the air-conditioned camper! It really was so much fun even if I was sick. Every time we do something "out-doorsy" I come home feeling like I just had a massage. It's very relaxing.

Me and Angie went earlier in the day to get food from Wal-mart!! What an ordeal!! (By the way, we're pretty much the best packers ever!!!!!!!)
