First Year of Residency.....Check

It's so hard to believe that Scotty's first year of residency has come and gone. So much has happened over the last 12 months it seems impossible to think its only been a year here in Tupelo. I'm so proud of Scotty for the job he's done so far because he's so good with patients and really cares about them; he really cares about his job; he has good relationships with his co-workers; and he's learned so much. Scotty is a "family first" kinda guy and throughout the entire first year of residency he's always made me his number one priority. Me,Tanner and Edie are so blessed to have him!!
This is a picture of Scotty's very first day as a doctor!!

This picture was taken when he got his very first page ever as a brand new doctor!! Notice he's got his fingers crossed - scared to death!!

Here's Scotty a year later walking out the door on the way to work ready for his last day as an intern!! Notice he's got much more confidence in this picture!! He thinks he's ready for his own clinic!!

Graduation Party

So last night was the Graduation Party and we had a blast!! The party was beach themed kareoke so of course, Scotty was in heaven!! We're really gonna miss this graduating class, but we'll never forget all the memories we've made with them!!

After Ken Williams started the night off with a song, Scotty and Jaime Coker followed right behind him. And they pretty much didn't get off the stage the rest of the night!! Scotty loves to kareoke and I think he's met his match!!
Me and DeeDee just kept a smile on our faces as our husbands made their home on the stage!!

The food was so good and we all stuffed our faces, but we were still able to suck in for the picture!! Lucky me... for some reason I didn't have to!!
The new interns had to get up there and sing a song together!! It's a requirement our class started last year!! L to R: Amber, Jennifer, Shelley, Kim, & Keith.

Katherine, I'm gonna miss you so much even though you're not going very far!!

Our spouse alliance got on stage and sang "My Humps". For some reason they made me their mascot!! But it was fun!!

What a team we are!!

We just love going to parties!!

Last year Ken Williams won the Brian Bagwell Award. It basically goes the the craziest intern at the Graduation party. And each year the winner selects the next person to pass it on to.

These are all some crazy boys so Ken had lots of choices.

But somehow my husband was chosen eventhough he wasn't an intern!! None of them were really coming out of their shell very fast, so it had to go to a second year!! I'll hafta agree that he is pretty crazy, which is one reason I love him!!

And the 2008 recipient of the Brian Bagwell Award is Scotty Davis!!

During this song, if your husband was on stage, you had to dance!! Who woulda thought I'd be up there?

Having fun is a hard job, but Maritza, me and Brenda are always up for the challenge!!

Me and Scotty tried to dance when they played a slow song, but look how much space is between us because of my stomach!!

We had so much fun with all our friends at this party, but I definitely had my most embarassing pregnancy moment while we were there!! Somebody knocked over a drink and it spillled all over the floor. Well, because I hafta pee 8000 times a day, I was on my way to the bathroom when all of a sudden I step in the puddle of this spilled drink and hit the ground!! Everybody rushed over and picked me up off the floor!! I was so embarassed, but I was really freaked out at first because they were all freaking out about the baby. But it was all ok. I just left with a bruised ego and a sore tailbone. And then had to spend the rest of the weekend reassuring Scotty that everything was ok with me and Tanner!!

Today we had the New Member Luncheon for our spouse alliance at Benjamin's. It was really fun, but again for some reason no new people showed up!! In a way I'm kinda glad because we had so much fun just getting together to hang out!! It's so nice to be with these girls because no matter what, we're always gonna laugh!!

Family Medicine End of the Year Party

Well Scotty's first year of residency is drawing to a close and last night was the End of the Year Party!! The spouse alliance always puts this on for our residents and it's so much fun!! It's also a time to meet the new incoming residents and their spouses (if they have them) but this year not a single one showed up!! O well!! We'll meet them soon enought!! I can't believe we've been here in Tupelo for a whole year, but we have!! Friday is graduation for the 3rd years and then Scotty won't be the low man on the totem pole any more!! We can't wait for that!! July 1 brings a new year, new people, and preparation for a new addition to our fam and we're so excited about it all!!

Some of us went early to set up for the party. I resorted to being the photographer since they wouldn't let me lift a finger!! Aren't they sweet as pie?

Ken & Maritza are so fun!!

This is Jaime & DeeDee Coker with their little boy Jax!! I wanna be just like her when Tanner gets here!! She makes it look so easy!!

Somehow I was able to get these fisherman to break for a picture!!

A bunch of residents + a pool = Somebody's goin in!! They tried to throw Scotty in the pool, but he hit the ground so they couldn't get him!!

They all ended up jumping in anyway!!

Notice that I cover up Maritza's entire body with my huge stomach!! Emily (the baby) is just looking at me thinkin There's no room for us in the picture because of her big o stomach!!!

We're just chillin' out thinking how nice year #2 will be!!

Smashleigh is so lucky to be done with residency!! Congrats Rob!!
Brad and Angie are also excited about being 2nd years!! It's gonna be a blast!!

Katherine, Brenda & Lauren look like they're up to something!! Juicy gossip, girls?

The night finally ended and even though none of the new interns showed up for their own party we still had fun without them!! This is really a great group!!

Gone Fishin'

Me, Edie, and Scotty went down to the lake in our neighborhood to try out his new fishing pole!! It was so much fun and Scotty LOVES his first Father's Day present!!

Scotty can't wait for Tanner to go fishing with him at the lake!!

He even taught me what to do!!

Edie loves to go see her friends at the lake!!

Best Dressed

I just had to show ya'll what I bought the other day!! OMG!! Soooo cute!! Me and Scotty were talking the other day about what all we needed to do to get the house ready for Tanner and he said, "Don't you think it should look like an interior designer lives here?" Haha!! So.... I went shopping to try and give us a little face lift!! I wasn't too successful with that, but when I was in T.J. Maxx I happened to look over and see baby clothes and it hit me.... I can shop for BABY clothes now!! How Cool!! So I found the cutest Polo onesies!! Didn't get anything for the house, but I did invest in Tanner's wardrobe!!

Surf's Up

Yesterday we went swimming at Scotty's parent's house!! It's so much fun to just lay out by the pool and soak up some sun!! Trust me, I need as many rays as I can get since I can't go to the tanning bed!! You're a lot cuter sportin' a stomach bulge if you've got a little color!! Everybody was in the pool and having a great time....Edie even joined in all the fun!!

Edie wasn't a huge fan of the water, but she did swim to the side!! Good girl, Beadsie!!

After she got out of the pool she was freezing and came to cuddle up in my beach towel!! Is that not the cutest face you've ever seen?

Kids just flock to Scotty!! I think this is a sign he'll be a great dad!!

Ok. Lots of people have been asking for belly shots....not too happy about it, but here's one in a SWIM SUIT!! What a family portrait!! Top to Bottom: Scotty, me, Tanner, & Edie!!

Happy Father's Day

Today was Scotty's very first Father's Day so it was very special!! I think Tanner is so lucky to have a Dad like him because he always takes care of us and loves us soooo much!! We're his whole world and he tells us that everyday!! I really hope Tanner grows up to be just like Scotty!!
We were excited because not only was this a special day for Scotty but we were in Jackson so we got to spend it with our dads too!! We got up early Sunday morning and had breakfast with my Dad before church. Me, Mom and Amanda were gonna cook for them, but decided it would be easier to pick up McDonald's. Then we went to church with Scotty's family because his Dad was singing a special!! After church we had a great lunch and spent the rest of the day making sure Scotty had the best Father's Day ever!!

I woke Scotty up for breakfast and gave him his very first Father's Day card!! He was super excited eventhough it was a little early for him!!

Here's our goodie bag from Mickey D's!! Yum!!

Dad and Scotty were surrounded with gifts!!

Scotty's first present was some manly bibs for Tanner!! I thought he would love to see his little line backer wearing these. Little did I know we would get 8000 bibs at our shower!! O well!!

I think this is one of the best pictures of Scotty and my Dad!!

I got a quick pic of Mr. Robert singing on Father's Day!! He did sooo good!!
Look at these two dads!!

Here's Scotty opening his second card!!

I wanted to get Scotty a fishing pole because I thought it would be something him and Tanner could do together!! But I didn't have any way of getting it to Jackson without Scotty knowing about it, so Adam went to Bass Pro Shop and picked out the best one and hid it for me until we could get there!! Thanks, Adam!!
