FMRC End of the Year Party

The Spouse Alliance held our End of the Year Party on the roof top of Park Heights. The setting was very casual, but elegant at the same time. It was great to spend time with friends we were about to say goodbye to and welcoming incoming residents who were just starting out. And I must say, what a way to enjoy downtown Tupelo one last time!! It was beautiful!!

It was nice to have downtown as a backdrop for pictures!!

Me & Bestie Heather

It was pretty hot up there and Tanner was sweating like crazy. He learned how to tip a cup up at this party and it was a good thing cause the boy needed to stay hydrated!!!!

Tanner & Ava again!!

After a night of dancing, they agreed the outdoor furniture seemed like a nice place relax. They chose the ottoman as their spot!!
Tanner dancing with his Heather!!
What a night!!! Time for some shut eye!!

A Last Hoorah

On June 14th (actually my mom's birthday) we had a Last Hoorah Party for Tanner in Tupelo with all of his friends from our playgroup!! It was a swimming party at the apartment clubhouse and I think all the kids (and mom's too) had a really good time!! We were so thankful to have such a close-knit group. It made for some great times and some great memories and we will truly miss each and every one of them!! Thank you all for your love and friendship and we're so glad you all got to make it to spend one last playgroup with Tanner!!

A few of Tanner's little pals got him gifts (which they did not hafta do!!!) and we appreciate them so much!! He not only loved playing with all of it, but had a blast opening them too!!

Running Errands

My mom was ready to replace some light fixtures at her house in Jackson so she asked if we'd mind going around to find one she could use. These are just a few pictures of my cute little shopping partner!!

Last Call

June 16th was Scotty's very last night of call!!! It felt like this time would never come, but it did and I'm not sure there's ever been anything that's made him more excited!!! The first three pictures are from his very first night of call as intern 3 years ago. Scotty's grown and learned so much since that first night and truly is an amazing doctor!! We're so proud of him!!

Scotty, Ashley Harris and Brad Crosswhite all went to medical school together at UMC and it was nice that all 3 families made the move to Tupelo together. The 3 of them made an agreement that they'd all do each of their first calls together to take some of the edge off!!! Scotty was the first intern to take call that year so we all met at the Crosswhite's house to go through the experience together!!

Angie, me and Jenn were all in the kitchen being there for moral support and helping each other keep our sanity!!! We may have had just as many butterflies as our guys!!!
This is the very first page Scotty ever got!!!

Fast forward 3 years later and here he is heading out to answer his very last page!!! Such a more laid back and calm demeanor!! And such a relief that it's over!!! This is one stage of life I'm not sure you could pay him enough money to go back to!!

The End Has Come!!

We never this day would come, but it finally did!! Scotty's last day of clinic as a Resident!!!
Congratulations, Babes!!

Happy Father's Day

These are the only pictures of Scotty and Tanner I took on Father's Day!! I didn't even get one of them together!! Nonetheless, Scotty is a great dad and Tanner is such a lucky little boy to have such a great role model!! We love you and hope you had a wonderful Father's Day!!!

When the Walls Close In

Living in the apartment wasn't all that bad, but it could get real small real quick!! On rainy days and the days it was just way too hot to be outside we'd go to the mall. Tanner loves mall rides and would stay on them for days!! Our mall in Tupelo also had a playground that I was really skeptical about at first because of germs, but I'd rather was Tanner's hands often than sweat outside for no reason!! Here's pictures from our days spent at the mall!! (Not all day, of course, or Scotty would've had a conniption fit!!)

Apartment Living

Here's a few pictures I took over the couple of months we were in the apartment. Apartment living was different, but we had a blast and made some really great memories!!

We bought a fireproof box and Tanner loved to stand on it while he watched TV.

Sweet Boy started sleeping in his toddler bed. We kept it beside our bed for when he needed us in the middle of the night. He loves that "Eh-mo" (Elmo) is on his bedding and it encourages him to be in his own bed. Eventhough sleep is an issue for us, this is a start. I just thank the Lord for the times when he looks this peaceful.
We discovered bath markers!!!

This night he was trying to go to sleep and after what seemed like hours of tossing and turning, he opened his eyes and stuck out his hand for me to hold, then drifted off to sleep. It's times like these when I love being a mother the most...when I'm able to give him immediate comfort and security.

Some may gasp at the fact that I was letting him jump on the bed, but sometimes you just hafta live in the moment!!

I know this one's blurry, but it's the only one of these I had and I HAD to include it!! Tanner started asking for hugs all the time and it was soooo sweet!! And for some reason he wanted one every time he was on the changing table. He would say, " A hug, a hug!!" and then he would squeeze me really tight and we'd look in the mirror and laugh!!
I'm not really sure what he's cutting his eyes at, but he kinda looks mischievous!!

One night when Scotty was on call we decided to have a picnic on the floor of the apartment. We'd had a long day at the pool and worked up quite an appetite. We ate left-overs and watched The Rescuers. Good times!!
Tanner loves making tents so we draped a blanket over the recliner and he crawled inside to read a few books!!

What a handsome fella!!

Daddy made Tanner a tent with the chairs!!

And the swimming pool.... This was his all-time favorite spot!! I've never seen a kid love the water so much!!

He loved to climb up on the back of the sofa to sit and watch TV!!
Leave it to Tanner to turn a grocery cart into a car!!

Standing on the fireproof box again!!

This is one of my MOST favorite pictures of Tanner. Trying to be just like Daddy!!

Hyper!!
