Random Moments in December

Here's a re-cap of the random moments we had before the holidays!!

12-2: We met Mimi & PopPop for dinner to celebrate PopPop's Birthday and we had so much fun!!

It was cold outside so Adam was trying to show Tanner how to blow so he could see his breath!! It was pretty funny!!

12-11: Our friends, Zach & Whitney, from Birmingham were in town having a family birthday party for their little boy Parker (Tanner calls him "Baby Paw-ter"). He's so sweet and I just can't believe he's already 1!!

12-12: Tanner was starting to get sick and had kept a runny nose for NINE weeks!!! Yes you read that right 9!!! It was starting to get worse and we were getting ready to go on vacation so we decided to try a breathing treatment!! Scotty got Tanner a dinosaur mask and he loved it!! He would even ask to wear it when he wasn't in the middle of a treatment!!

That should have us pretty much caught up to the week before Christmas!!! And fyi- Christmas and the Vacay blogs will be huge so just get ready for lots of pics and lots of reading!!! I apologize ahead of time!!!

Thanksgiving 2010

Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving and ate lots of turkey!! I know we did and that's where my holiday weight gain began!!! It's always great to pack on the pounds but that's another blog for another day!! It was the first holiday living back in Jackson and felt great not to hafta drive 3 hours to get here!! So I hope you enjoy our pics!!

My cousin, Vicki, came home from North Carolina a few days before Thanksgiving so we went over to Dana's house (my other cousin/Vicki's sister) to spend some time with her. She's a vet and always travels with her 3 dogs - a weiner dog, a lab, and her horse, I mean GREAT DANE!!! Tanner loves the dogs and always has so much fun with them!! He was also excited to see Dawson & Danae!!

When we went to my Mom's for Thanksgiving we took the potty and just like any man, he needed his reading material!! He chose the toy catalog!!

He thought it was funny that he got caught with his finger in the cake!!

Then he needed to share with Da!!

We also went to Scotty's MawMaw's house and PopPop brought lots of goodies for the kiddos!! Animal hats, light sticks, and a t-shirt iron on to color!!

The Big Boy Potty

Well, well, well....Look at who's a big boy!! Yes we're potty training!!! I'll keep you updated on how it goes, but I'm so proud of him!! I started wondering a while back if he was ready because he could hold his bladder all night. Then a while after that he would start to tell me when he had a dirty diaper. I didn't rush things or try to push the potty on him. I've read that if you potty train too early and they have a bad experience, it just does more damage and takes longer in the end. So we went to Wal-mart, got a potty, and made it a really fun, big deal!! We took it in our room just to show it to him and let him sit on it. Had no idea he'd actually use it for the first time!!! So glad we had the video camera!! Soooo....I know these pictures are a total invasion of his privacy and there will definitely be payback down the road but....you know me!! Camera in hand - I just had to share!!!!

I'm not sure he knew what to think when he heard the sound of tinkling!!!

Now everytime he goes he says, "Wook, Mama!! I tee-tee da big boy potty!!!" He's so proud of himself and I am too!! The first few days of pottying he would wanna call Granna everytime and tell her!! It's really hit or miss each day...sometimes he only goes in the morning and somedays he doesn't go at all, and we haven't even attempted #2!!! But I'm just letting him take the lead. They're only little once and he'll do it when he's ready. So for now I'm still on diaper duty!!! But I don't mind!!

Get With the Program!!

That's what I hafta tell myself with the blog sometimes!! I always have good intentions of catching up and doing a little each day, but somehow there's always something else to do. I'm horrible about doing a baby book for Tanner so I've used this blog as a way to document just about everything!! But I finally talked to myself enough to come to this: Val, there's no way you're gonna stop taking pictures until you catch up so.....GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!! So I did. After this blog all that's left is the holidays!! Yay for me!!

September 18:

I made this cake for Scotty's first work function!! There's always room for improvement, but not too shabby!!

October 9:

October 4:
My family at Cracker Barrel for my birthday!! Scotty gave me those cowboy boots and my sister took off work so we could hang out all day!! Lots of fun for 28!!

I couldn't find my phone when my sister got to my house so I just called Scotty from her phone to tell him that if he needed me to call Amanda. When we got back from shopping, there was still no sign of my phone so I had no way to get in touch with anybody!! I didn't know dinner plans and couldn't call and Scotty wasn't home at the time he said he would be so I decided to go pick him up from work. I went the route he takes everyday just in case I passed him. But I didn't!! Go to his office and he wasn't there!! Tried to find pay phone!!! Just in case you were wondering....they're obsolete!!! Drove all the way to my in-laws, who I happened to catch as they were pulling out of the driveway!!! Called Scotty and he was at our house!!!!!!!!!! Went to meet him and found these flowers!!! That's the reason I didn't pass him on the way to the office BECAUSE HE WENT A DIFFERENT WAY!!!!! But we finally made it to Cracker Barrel and I had some birthday flowers!!! And my cell phone? About 11:00 that night we found that Tanner had hid my phone in the bottom of a box of Honey Smacks and it had DIED!!! True story. Gotta love it!!

Later in the week we went to my mom's for my birthday dinner. Here's Tanner eating a tomato!! If he needs the glasses to make it taste good, so be it!!

Tanner had fallen asleep when we did cake so we did it again when he woke up!! He loves to blow out candles!!

August 24: (so out of order!!)
I'm really interested in photography and my sister asked me to take some pictures of her when she started at MC so here's just a few of them!!

October 15:

We met at Newk's for Betty Sue's birthday. It was supposed to be a surprise, but I think she already knew about it somehow. Here's the grands:
