On August 19th Tanner turned 3 years old. So hard to believe!! It really goes by so fast and I try to enjoy every second of it. Tanner is the world to us and has made the last three years so unbelievably special. He has changed our lives in the most incredible way and we feel so blessed to be his parents. We love you sweet Tanner!!
He was very into pirates this year so that's the theme we went with. It was between that and The 3 Little Pigs, but there was much more pirate decor!! Here's all our pictures from his 3rd Birthday!! Hope you enjoy!!

The Party Decor:
Party Favors
First of all, I'd just like to say we couldn't have pulled off this birthday party without the help of our families. I really couldn't do a lot since I was pregnant, Scotty was working a ton, and we just couldn't seem to get on top of anything. Our families stepped in a carried us through and we really appreciate all ya'll did!!! From helping us in the yard, to projects around the house, keeping Tanner so I could clean, helping with the Pirate Ship and setting up the party...we really couldn't have done it without ya'll!!
Here's Scotty's dad helping him put our pinestraw in the flower beds!!

I just loved this one and had to put it in here!!
I love that I can say, "Ya know...I think Tanner needs a pirate ship for his party." And Scotty's the kind of husband that makes it happen!! We still had tons of moving boxes left over in the garage I found some plans for a pirate ship online. The pirate ship was meant to be!! Here's Scotty putting it together in our living room the night before Tanner's birthday.
Tanner was beyond excited when he woke up on his birthday with a huge pirate ship in the living room!!! This face is so worth all the hard work!!
He was so excited he HAD to eat his "oaKmeal" in the ship before heading to school!!
So excited to take his birthday cupcakes to school to share with all his friends!!
The Birthday Boy with his teacher, Mrs. Trudy!!
Scotty built the ship and my Dad painted it and put up the sail!! Thanks, Dad!!
We moved the finished product out by the pool.
Tanner's party was the day after his actual birthday so Scotty's parents took him to eat lunch and a trip to Build-a-Bear while we, along with my parents, set up for the party. They let him take a nap and then got him dressed in his skull and crossbones swim trunks and brought him to the party!! He was so excited when he arrived!! Here's our little pirate with his very own ship - The Blimey Barnacle!!
Tanner was so ready for the party to get started and couldn't contain his excitement as guests started to arrive!!
We do parties big around here and had tons of people show up to celebrate with us. Anybody that knows Scotty, knows he can't do big crowds. He was ok with a big blow-out as long as we kept everybody OUTSIDE. Well not 10 minutes into the party, a huge storm cloud formed back behind us. And my heart started pounding....
Scotty decided to go ahead and fire up the grill....Then we felt the raindrops and you would've thought a tornado formed 2 feet away from us. The chaos ensued!! People started running around bringing food, presents and decorations inside, Dad and some friends ran the pirate ship around to put it back in the garage, Pregnant me and BFF Kellie (who'd just had a baby) were in the living room rolling back the rug and moving furniture to make room for all the kids, while others jerked kids out of the swimming pool!!! Then after checking the weather, it looked like all it was gonna do was sprinkle so then we moved everything back outside (trying to keep Scotty from rocking in the corner!!) and set everything back up.
We passed out all the pirate costumes so all of Tanner's friends could dress up too!!
Then Aunt Heather read Tanner's brand new Pirate Pete book so we could finish setting up.
Tanner loves that book!! Can you tell?
Then we took some pictures with the ship...
And as soon as the last photo was snapped there was a huge clap of thunder and lightning strike in the distance!! And the rain started again!!! So for the 2nd time...the chaos ensued and we quickly moved everything inside for the rest of the night!! My sister and Aunt Heather took control of the kids by singing songs, reading books, and playing games while we got everything moved in, set up and tried to gain some control over the situation!!
This outside swim party quickly turned into a Pirate Picnic on our living room floor!! Tanner was happy, Scotty was surprisingly calm, and some really great memories were made!! We never missed a beat and Tanner had a great birthday party!!
Tanner is just like his mama and loves chocolate. He got some icing on his toe and was not about to let it go to waste!! So he licked it off!! Love it!!
Our sweet baby boy had a great time and we can't wait for many more birthdays with him!! He is truly the love of our lives!!
