The Big Reveal

Since me and Scotty are so far away from family and friends we wanted to make a really big deal about telling everybody what we were having. Of course, I love parties so we decided to have Big Reveal. If you thought it would be a boy you wore blue to the party. If you thought it would be a girl, you wore pink. Me and Scotty wore neutral colors so we wouldn't give it away!! We were so excited with all the planning going on we could hardly wait for the big day to arrive!! We also wanted all of our Tupelo friends to be involved in some way so we had them cast their votes on absentee ballots!! All in all, I think it was a hit!! Here are some pics from our fun party!!

This was our food table. It was decorated with blue and pink fabic, silver serving dishes and lots of great food!! We actually made all the food ourselves with the help of a few special people!! My mom made the potato salad and baked beans. Everybody said it was the best thing they had ever put in there mouths!! Hope I can cook like that one day!! Jamie helped me carve the baby carriage made of fruit among other things, Granny(Sellers) brought the nuts, and Mrs. Betty made the cake!! Thanks everybody!!

This is the cake Mrs. Betty made!! Isn't it so cute with the booties and rattles!! Yummy!!
This little guy was also a part of the cake!! Yes, he's made of CAKE!!

My favorite part on him was his little blue and pink butt!!

So once everybody got there we decided to group everybody together to really get a good idea of what the votes were. Blue vs. Pink!!

Guess what!! Majority rules!! It's a BOY!!!

To all of those who voted girl, we didn't mean to disappoint!! Maybe you'll get your wish on the next go round!!

We played a game to reveal what we were having. We read everybody clues and once they figured out the answer we filled in the blanks and the name was hidden in the puzzle!!
Tanner Anderson Davis!!
We were so excited to hang out with friends we hadn't seen in a while!! Umm...Kellie & Taylor, we're ready for a little Mathis!!
This is my friend Jamie (my Jams Cracka) who flew in from Dallas for the party!! She came over early to help out and we definitely wouldn't have gotten everything done if she hadn't pitched in!! Thanks Jams!! Obviously, the cake was a hit!! No, Jamie didn't eat it all by herself!!

Tanner's gonna be so happy when he finds out what good cooks his Granna and Mimi are!!

Edie had so much fun celebrating her little brother that she was tuckered out by the end of the night!! Sweet dreams little puppy!!

A First Time For Everything

I've been feeling Baby Davis move around and kick for a while now, but today Scotty felt the baby kick for the first time!! Isn't that so neat? He was so excited that he could finally feel my "pain"!!

Yard Work

Me and Scotty have been in this house a year now and even though we did some yard work last year, we decided it was time to do a little more. When we moved in a year ago, the other houses on our cul de sac weren't built yet. We started noticing some drainage problems after the landscaping was done on our neighbor's house. Every time it would rain our yard would flood. So we got the landscapers to put in a French drain, fixed up our flower beds, and got a fence!! Me and Scotty have decided that we like yard work and it's something we can do together!! Our yard looks great and we're so proud of it!!

Here are a couple of pictures of what we like to call "Davis Lake".

You could pretty much drive a jet ski through that!

And here's our jungle. Our neighborhood covenants require us to pay $50 a month for lawn service. As you can see they were slacking a bit so Scotty had to get out there and take care of the problem!! Some of those big weeds in the back were almost waist high!! Can you say reimbursment?
This is the same flower bed we fixed up last year so this year we just did a few minor improvements on it. We planted fresh flowers and trimmed it out with monkey grass we got from our friends Ashley and Jennifer. See our fence in the background!!
This is our newest flower bed. I had to leave our bird bath at our old house when we moved so Scotty got me this one that's way better!!

Our little vines have already started making their way up the trellis!!

I potted these flowers to put out by the front door.

And I made this flower arrangement to hang on our front door!!
Our yard has come a long way since last year. Each spring we build on what we did the season before. Next year we can start on the backyard!!!
