First Doctor's Visit

Wow!! Can i just tell you how much I hate going to the doctor? I hate even going when I have a soar throat so just imagine my anxiety about something like this!! Just take a minute and think of what you hate the most in your life. What would be you're own personal hell? Ok, however much you hate what you just thought of I'm that times 150 about going to the doctor!! I absolutely hate it!! Everybody always says, but you're married to a doctor!! My response: He does his thing, I do mine. I don't hear about the gross stuff and I'm not the one in the waiting room!! Well sister that was NOT the case today!!! I was most definitely in the waiting room, let me tell you!! Let's just say if Scotty had not been there with me, I probably would'be had to be air lifted by helicopter to get back to my house!!! I was a wreck!! I can't explain to you or pinpoint one thing that gives me such anxiety - I just simply HATE going to the doctor!!! So we get there and we're filling out the paper work and my hand is shaking so much that it looks like I scribbled by name everywhere!! Then we had to go talk to a financial person. Scotty handled all that. I didn't even listen, but apparently we have really good insurance!! After that I peed in a cup - enough said. Then came my nightmare. They had to take blood. There were a couple of people that had to go before me and man was I breathing hard!! I was so nervous and then right before it was my turn I started crying!! I did NOT wanna go in there!! Scotty was rubbing my back and saying everything was gonna be ok, one of the nurses went and got me a stress ball, and the other women in the waiting area were all trying to reassure me. I finally got myself together (or so I thought). We went in and Scotty told the nurse I was terrified and she was so sweet to me. I made it through the needle without crying, so we got my hot pink bandaid and moved on. Our next stop was the nurse's office where they collect the family history. I had been so strong through taking the blood and then my nerves finally caught up with me and I lost it in her office!! I couldn't stop crying and again she was so sweet and patient and reassuring. I felt so stupid, but she said there was no need to. I finally got my composure and finished the history. When we finally got to see the doctor he was also reassuring and said that I had done an excellent job so far. We didn't have a sonogram scheduled, but before we left he got out a doppler to see if we could hear the baby's heatbeat. He said it was uncommon to hear it right now since I was only 10 weeks and not to be discouraged if we didn't. But we did!!! It was a very strong heart beat and the doctor says we have a little show off!! Imagine that coming from a Davis!! We left there and headed to get so french fries from McDonald's!! I needed that after such a traumatic afternoon!! But we made it through and I'm well on my way to a great emotional recovery!! Just keep us in your prayers and we'll keep you updated!!

We're Pregnant!!!

Yes, little Baby Davis is on the way and we're so excited!! So let me give you the run down!! We found out I was pregnant the Saturday before Christmas. After 3 positive tests we decided to tell our families when we went home for the holidays!! We kept it a secret for a while since it was so early, but now the cat's outta the bag!! I've been super sick, I can smell things from a mile away, I wake up at all hours of the night to go pee, and eventhough there's not a whole lot I can eat I wake up in the middle of the night starving to death!! How weird huh?!? The nausa (hope I spelled that right - I'm not the doctor in the family!!) has been the worst part of it all!! At first I thought I was gonna get lucky and miss out on all that and then at 6 weeks it hit!! It lasts all day and sometimes I can't even get off the couch!! I haven't been able to cook or clean or go anywhere, it's aweful!! I would post pictures of how aweful my house is except for the fact that this would pretty much be the most embarrassing thing in my life!! So, that's for my eyes only!!! I know this will get better so I'm trying to just take it all in stride, but you can pray for me if you would like to!! Scotty has been so great and supportive. He takes care of me and cooks for me and helps out around the house. So I'd say I'm pretty lucky to have him around!! He's so excited and he gets so protective of me, it's really cute!! But we hope you enjoy the pics and don't worry I'll be keeping the blog up all through this whole ordeal so you can stay up to date with what goes on in the Davis household!!

This is my friend Angie who just had her baby. We took this picture so we would always remember at least we shared a few pregnant weeks together!!

We racked our brains trying to decide how we should break the news to our families. Scotty had the best idea ever!! He bought baby food jars and we wrapped them in these boxes. After everybody opened their gifts, our parents had just one more that had been "forgotten" under the tree. Needless to say everyone was happy with this gift!!

Bringin' Home the Snow

Any time me & Scotty decide to come to Jackson, it always rains. If you're in the middle of a drought, just get us to come visit you and we'll bring a monsoon!!! It never fails. When we go on a roadtrip, we bring the rain!! Well, this weekend was no different, except for the fact that it was supposed to SNOW!!! We were soooooo bummed out we were gonna miss the one time we got snow in Tupelo. But we hung our heads and headed to Jackson anyway. We drove through sleet and it was just like somebody was rubbing in the fact that we were gonna miss the snow. By the time we arrived in Jackson, it was nothing but rain. Just plain old rain. In fact, we were so sure it was gonna snow that we called our neighbor and asked if they would take a picture of our house for us when they got up in the morning. Of course, they said yes and we went to bed totally bummed. Then early Saturday morning we get the best phone call ever!!! Kellie called and said, "I know it's your day to sleep late, but I just thought you might wanna know it's snowing!!!!" I shot up out of bed, looked out the window, and freaked out!!! It was sticking to the ground!!! Of course, I wake up the entire house, call all the family, and make everybody go play!!! We were soooo excited that we brought home the snow!!

Isn't that so pretty?

He's on that phone even in a snow storm!!

Nothing like hangin' out with your brother in the snow!!

Edie wasn't a huge fan of the snow, even if she did have her coat on!! She ran back inside as soon as she saw the door open!!

These girls really know how to bundle up!!

You don't see this much in MS!!

Guess who threw the first snow ball!!

Dr. Edie

Edie LOVES her Daddy and she really wants to go to work with him!!! She thinks it would just fine for her to ride around in Scotty's pocket all day!! I personally think she would make a great doctor and she would definitely get rave reviews for her bedside manner!!

Do they make puppy scrubs?

Emily Is FINALLY Here!!

Our friends Brad & Angie had their baby girl today!!! Little Emily finally made it here after months of anticipation!!! She is just the cutest little thing you've ever seen!! Her skin is soooo soft and she's cuddley and o my gosh we just can't get enough of her!!! I think we should definitely win on game nights now for the simple fact that we have the cutest girl on the team!!! I can't until we can get together for a lunch date because we'll get to say, "Can we get a high chair over here? STAT, please!!"

Duh, we had to get a pic with the new family!!

Scotty congratulates Brad on becoming a new DADDY!!

Happy New Year!!

We decided to stay in Tupelo for New Year's and we had so much fun!! Our friends Aaron and Jennifer came up from Jackson to stay with us to ring in 2008!! We had so much fun cooking out, playing games, and watching the ball drop on TV. A few minutes before midnight we went outside for a countdown. We thought we would be able to see fireworks, but we didn't. O well!! The New Year came even without the fireworks!!

We're so pumped up about another year together!!!

Happy New Year Friends!!!

Happy Late Birthday Aaron!!
