Las Vegas 2011

The week before Thanksgiving, Baptist sent Scotty to Las Vegas for a conference about electronic medical records.  Me & Tanner were NOT excited about him leaving.  He was gone for 3 nights.  We spent one night with Scotty's parents and 2 nights with my parents!!  The rest of the time we were here working on baby girl's nursery and curtains for the living room.  My mom says the only time I wanna make curtains is when I'm pregnant!! Sure hope that's not true!!  We got iphone's for our 5th anniversary so Scotty was able to send us pictures the whole time!! He flew out on a Sunday and got back on Wednesday.  You should've seen me and Tanner at the airport when we dropped Scotty off.  Any onlookers would've thought we were sending him off to war!! Tanner was screaming Daddy and crying so hard and I was balling my eyes out so much I had to pull over - couldn't see to drive!! It was terrible.  So we dropped him off, finally "composed" ourselves (if that's what you wanna call it) and headed to church.  Tanner calmed down as we were coming into Byram and then he saw Scotty's billboard!!!!! And oh my goodness there he went again!!  He got so upset he threw up and I had to take him home and change his clothes for church!!  I think we both took a good nap that afternoon!!

Here's the Vegas Strip from Scotty's hotel window.

Views from the plane.

He was shocked at how big the conference was.

This lion was at the MGM Grande where Scotty stayed.

The gift shop.  Tanner loved getting all these pictures from his Daddy every day!!
More from his hotel.
Cirque de Soliel!!!!

More lions!!

Sending reindeer antlers to Daddy!!

Helping me & Mom measure and cut the fabric for curtains!!
This boy loves to help!! And he's good at it too!!

Dad getting ready to hang the curtains in AK's nursery!!
Tanner helping with the hardware!!
Ta-dah!! Here they are!! Thanks Mom & Dad for helping me knock out these projects while Scotty was gone!!  I'll try to post pics of the finished product soon!!

We made Daddy a sign to take to the airport!!  When Tanner saw his Daddy he bolted over to him!!!! Somebody could've easily snatched Tanner right up bc there was no catching him!! That boy wanted his Daddy!!!!
Finally!!!
Tanner was ready for his surprises from Daddy's trip!!

Daddy brought him a lion, a book and a magic wand!!

This is how I found them the next morning!!! I'd say they missed each other just a little!!!  We were so glad he was finally home!!

K3 Festival of Trees and Lights

Tanner's K3 class performed Christmas carols at the Festival of Trees & Lights and they were the cutest little things I'd ever seen!!  They did such a great job.  Tanner was a little teased at first but I think once you see the last picture, there's not denying he finally went into full performance mode!!

A Sunday Spent in Vicksburg

On May 15th, we played hookie from church (don't judge!!) and opted for some family time in Vicksburg with my parents, sister, and Granny!! We had a McDonald's picnic and then went through the military park. I wasn't very far along in my pregnancy and I was so sick, but I really wanted to go so Scotty really took care of me. We're kinda history buffs so we love this kinda stuff and I think we all had a great time!!

Having a picnic!!

Daddy's teaching Tanner about the loud cannons. He could've spent all day right here pretending to shoot the cannons!!

I love this picture of my mom and Tanner playing a game of tag!!

We grew up going to Vicksburg when I was little. We'd always go through the park and my parents would just let us run and play and I used to walk on these same bricks when I was Tanner's age!!

Tanner, Sister and Granny on the cannon!!

The Illinois Memorial has always been my favorite!!

Not sure what monument this is, but we sure had fun climbing all over it!! I know you're not supposed to do that, but I guess we're just a bunch of renegades!!

About to go through and underground Civil War tunnel!!

Towards the end of the park, you can tour the USS Cairo. This was a Civil War ironclad that was constructed for the Union Navy. On December 12, 1862, the Cairo was struck by a torpedo while clearing mines out of the Yazoo River and sunk in 12 minutes. Thanks to our Yazoo clay, the Cairo was preserved and efforts to begin raising the ironclad began in 1956, but the process was not completed until the 1970's. There were many artifacts recovered from the ship, but some of the ones we thought were most interesting were all the medical supplies. Sooo neat!!

Nothin' like family time & a history lesson!! We had so much fun with my family. We ended up heading back a little early because I was so nauseated, but it was still a great day!!
