We woke up on June 26, better known as Moving Day, and realized we had a lot to do!! We had so much stuff still left to load, had to clean the apartment, and then "check out" of the apartment. We ate breakfast and decided we better get a move on!!
Tanner was very sweet as we loaded the cars. He did such a great job of staying out of the way. It probably helped that Mimi brought Barney to see him!!
Ready to make the almost 4 hour journey Home!! When you're making such a transition with a little one, you try to prepare them as much as you can. But it's hard to break it down and put it on their level when you're trying to explain we're not coming back here!! I think he had a sense of this being a last for him though, because when we got him in his carseat he said, "Bye-Bye, Tupelo." Tear Jerker!!!!
We rode by the clinic one last time.
... and the hospital too!!
And we had to eat at our favorite Mexican spot one last time!!! Los Potrillos!! These people know us and one of the waitresses walks Tanner around the restaurant, takes him back to the kitchen with her and just loves on him every time we eat there. And some of the waiters call Scotty "M.D."!! Hahaha!! We're gonna miss that yummy place!!
We made it home to Scotty's parent's house where we lived for several weeks!! I don't know if it was the suitcases or just not being adjusted, but we kept feeling like we were supposed to head back to Tupelo at anytime. We love, love, love Tupelo and treasure the friendships and memories we made there, but at the same time it was nice, after 3 years, to finally come home.
