January in Review

Here's a re-cap of January in random order:

This jacket was Scotty's when he was Tanner's age. My mother-in-law kept it all these years!! I'm very sentimental so I was very excited for Tanner to have his Daddy's jacket. I think Scotty was proud that Tanner would have such a keepsake too. I usually don't let him wear blue jeans to church, but we made an exception so he could show off his "new" jacket!!

We were tired of being cooped up in the house so one day we decided to brave the elements and play outside. Tanner wanted to ride his trike so we bundled up and went!!

After a couple of accidents I decided it was time to step in and help...

I told him to push his legs as hard as he could and that would make him go. That's exactly what he did!! He took his little hand and pushed down on his knee with all his might and didn't quite understand why that was NOT making him go!!!

After deciding that riding bikes was over-rated he thought it would be more fun to play in the woods!! And it was!!

My cousin, Zenda, is out of town a lot for work so she missed seeing Tanner to give him his Christmas present. We all met up over at Mom & Dad's house so she could give it to him!! They wasted no time setting up camp and she was so appeasing to get in the tent when Tanner asked. He loves his "Aunt Z" and it's not real hard to see why!!!

Granna & Pa gave Tanner a trampoline for Christmas. It took a few weeks for us to have time to set it up, but when we did....Tanner was a new man!!! He hops everywhere he goes so this was the perfect present for him!! He started out a little unsure about it, but a few bounces later he was like an old pro. Yes, Scotty set this up in the living room, but it was just too cold to get any use of it outside. So I lived with an obstacle course for a few weeks!!! These next few pictures are a "slide show" of Tanner after about 5 minutes after the first time he stepped foot on the trampoline!!!!

We very quickly realized, the net that came with it was a necessary part to this equipment!!!

Being cooped up inside for extended periods of time will drive anyone mad....I'm just glad there was a little laughter invovled in ours!!! He was so silly during his snack one day that I just had to start snapping pictures!!!

One of my very best friends invited us to her little girl's birthday party and boy was Tanner excited!! He loves Morgan and they always play so sweet together. We went a little early and here they are in her bounce house.

Tanner loves to help blow out candles and I tried to explain to him that we really can only do that with family members because we don't wanna take away anybody else's day. So he accepted this bit of information but wasn't super happy about it. So we stood back with Morgan's other friends. When Morgan went to blow out her candles, Tanner blew as hard as he could from across the room!!

They thought he was so funny that they re-lit the candles and let him help Morgan do it again!!
Thanks, Kell!!!

Morgan's cotton candy machine was a huge hit!! If these two get hitched, I'm pulling this picture and putting it right beside the cotton candy machine at the reception!!!

January seems like it was full of birthdays!! Scotty's partner at work also invited us to his little boy's birthday party. It was one of the neastest parties we've been to. Christopher had a Taekwondo party!! So fun!! They even had instructors to guide the party!! Amazing!! Christopher was turning 6 so there was a big age difference, but Tanner blew us away with how well he kept up!!
It started out with an obstacle course while the other kids were arriving.

Then the instructor told them what all they were about to do.

I was so proud of Tanner for following instructions!!

Here he is blocking.

It was such a neat party and taught the kids about discipline and respect while having fun. I think we may sign Tanner up for lessons when he's old enough!!

I'm so impressed with how well he followed directions at the party! Way to go, Tanner! Love him in his "vintage" jacket. Scotty's old enough to consider it vintage, right?! :0)

Love that cotton candy pic! Looks like somebody may be interested in karate. Way to go, Tanner! What a neat idea for a birthday party, too.
