Happy Birthday, Mom!!

Not only was today Tanner's shower, but it was also Mom's birthday!! I don't think I'm supposed to say how old she is so I won't since I don't really wanna be on her bad side!! But she did go over the hill a few years ago, that's all I have to say about that!! But it was fun to be home for the party and to be able to celebrate with her!! After the shower we went back to Mom and Dad's and everybody came over to eat!! We had so much fun and I think she did too!! Happy Birthday, Mom and thanks for sharing the day with Tanner!!

Shower For Tanner

Today was the first shower we had for Tanner!! It was so much fun and my sister and my mom did a really good job with everything!!! We had several people from Jackson offer to throw us a shower, but with gas prices being so high and just having so much to do to get ready for him, we just decided it would be better to have one big shower and it would make it way easier on us!! So that's what we did and it was perfect!! It was so good to see people we hadn't seen in forever and at least get to hang out with everybody for a couple of hours. I do feel kinda bad because there we several people that I didn't even get a chance to talk to, but there were just sooooo many people there. We appreciate all the presents we got and a big thanks to Mom and Amanda for putting the whole thing on!! Hope you enjoy all our pics!! Notice that everybody in them is darker than me because the tanning bed is off limits for now!!

We had the shower at the Latimer House in Clinton and it was decorated so beautifully!!

I made Amanda sit by me while I opened gifts because I was so scared to be in front of everybody. She wrote down all the gifts so I don't think anybody knew I was freakin' out!!

This is my friend Molly!! We've known each other since K-5 and she has the cutest little boy named Gavin, who is a trip!!

Zach and Whitney came down from Birmingham for the shower!! Zach and Scotty hung out and did boy stuff while me and Whit were at the shower!! Tanner can't wait to go with his Dad and Zach when they do boy stuff in the future!!

After we got done eating, visiting and opening all the gifts it was time to pack up the loot!! Wow talk about a major task!! Let's just say that when we packed up to head back to Tupelo me, Scotty and Edie barely fit in the truck!! And for once it didn't rain on us!!

Special Parking

So the other day I went to the mall to do a little shopping for all the special occassions we have coming up!! Sometimes I think a lot of people get pregnant and then just go nuts with the whole thing. They can't do this, they can't do that, they waddle, they hold their stomach all the time.....blah, blah, blah..... it gets on my nerves!! Come on!! You're not handicapped!! But when I was driving around the mall parking lot, I noticed there was a space open for expectant mothers!! So I figured, what the heck? I might as well go ahead and take advantage of this just because I can - so I did!! And I took a picture so we'd always remember the moment!!

Edie Loves the Bed

To say that Edie loves our bed is an understatement!! She sleeps with us every night and snuzzles up under the covers. She has puppy stairs on the side of the bed so she can have easy access any time she wants. Every time I make the bed she climbs her stairs and and tries to take the sheets away from me!! It's hilarious!! And when I make up the bed in the mornings, sometimes she will not move and wants to be made up in the bed!! But the other day I had washed the sheets and started putting them back on and Scotty said, "put her under the fitted sheet and see what she does!!" So I did and she didn't wanna come out!! We couldn't believe it, but she actually fought us to stay under there!! She looked like a little mole running under the surface of the ground!! When I would try to grab her she would run and bark at me!! It was unreal!! We finally coaxed her out, but it was hard work!!

Edie also LOVES to sleep snuggled up to Scotty!! Sometime she gets in the bend of his legs. Other times she nestles herself in his arm pit. But this time she wedged herself between pillows and got all up in his face!! She was content as could be!! It was so cute!!

Usually Edie's pretty clingy, but here lately she's been doing her own thing. And the last few days I'll be cleaning or something and she's no where to be found so I'll call her and she'll come bouncing out of our bedroom. So the other day I noticed she disappeared so I slipped into the bedroom to see if I could find out what she was up to in there!! She was in our made up bed!! Imagine that!! I tip-toed to the head of our bed and found her slumped down, snuggled up in our pillows!! She loved it and stayed there for hours!! Lazy little lady!!

All In a Day's Work

Let's just say that when Scotty came home from work the other day he had plenty to keep him busy!! I was cooking and cleaning in the kitchen and I look up and what do I see? Scotty's got all the pieces for the baby crib laid out in the living room floor!! He started putting it together, and I must say he did a pretty good job!! He's so handy!! He finally finished his project and I was very proud of him!!

He deserves a pat on the back!!

Newlywed Celebration

Our friends Marc and Summer recently got married in Jamaica. We went to their wedding reception at the Parker House when they got back and had so much fun! We were so happy when they got engaged and absolutely couldn't wait for them to tie the knot!! Scotty and Marc have been best friends since forever and I don't know if two people could be more alike!! Marc asked Scotty to be his best man at the wedding in Jamaica. We were so excited and then decided against the international trip since I'm pregnant. Bummer!! I feel aweful that we weren't there to share in their big day and that I took away Scotty's chance to be a best man!! But I guess the most important thing is that Marc and Summer know we love and support them and are so excited they've joined the ball and chain club!!

Getting Ready for Baby

Today me and Scotty went to Babies R Us to register for the baby shower my sister is throwing us. We were there forever and by the time we left, we were overwhelmed and needed a break. There's so much we don't know about, I don't know how we're gonna learn everything before Tanner gets here. I guess we'll learn as we go!! We did have fun though and here's one picture I got while we were there!!
