Kristen & Adam's Wedding

On April 10th, Kristen & Adam got married. If you frequent my blog and have no idea who these people are, let me just tell you!! Scotty's brother, Adam, married my long-time friend, Kristen. It was such a fun weekend and we're so happy we got to share the big day with them!!

Let me give you a little history lesson on these two. It's really an interesting story!! My parents and Kristen's parents live right next door to each other in Clinton. So for many years, not only were me and Kristen good friends, we were also neighbors!!

Now. Let's rewind to October 21, 2006. Mine and Scotty's wedding day!! (The best day ever besides Tanner!!) On our big day, Adam's job was two-fold. Not only was he there to support Scotty, but he also played the role of Usher. (Along with the other brothers and several other groomsmen.) This may seem like an insignificant detail, except for the fact that Adam escorted Kristen to her seat!!!!! Little did he know that, at that moment, he was meeting the girl who would one day become his WIFE!!! How awesome is that!!!!!

We're so proud that Kristen & Adam met at our wedding, but more than that we're proud of the family they've become. You see, it's not just the two of them. Adam's son, Peyton is a part of this story too and Kristen has welcomed him with open arms. She knew they were a package deal and even when people discouraged her, she never one time batted an eye. She just kept on loving them both. There's no doubt that Adam is a great dad, but I just want to say that Kristen is the perfect example that you don't hafta give birth to a child to love them like your own. Kristen, Adam & Peyton- We love ya'll so much and are so thankful the 3 of ya'll are in our lives. We wish you nothing but the best. Ya'll deserve it!!

Kristen & her mom, Cindy.

Adam & Peyton, who was the Best Man and did an AWESOME job!!

Here they are playing a game we played at our rehearsal dinner. You each hold one of your significant other's shoe and one of your own. Someone reads questions and you hold up the shoe of the person it pertains to the most.

The 3 of them listening to all the heartfelt best wishes as they become a family.

This part was a big deal. It's when Kristen got her Christmas stocking. Let me explain. If you're just a girlfriend you absolutely cannot, under no circumstance, no matter what, have a stocking at Christmas. It's a right of passage. You HAFTA be a wife!!! Kristen wanted one so bad, but I couldn't have mine until I was married and the same went for her!! I got mine at our rehearsal dinner and that's when she got hers!!!

Kristen giving such a sweet speech. She said she'd always know the Lord, but that Adam & Peyton brought her to Him. (She got saved after her and Adam started dating.) Then she told Peyton she hoped he would accept her as his step-mom. I don't think there was a dry eye in the building.

One last picture before tying the knot!!

The lady of the day at her Bridesmaid's Breakfast!!

Kristen passing out gifts to the wedding party. It was a pair of gorgeous earrings made by her sister.

A group picture made at the breakfast.

After the breakfast we all went to her salon to have our hair done. Yes, that's the bride doing hair on her wedding day!! She said that was what was keeping her calm!!

After getting our hair done, me and Scotty's mom headed back to her house to do our make-up and meet up with the boys. Then it was off to the church!!
Here's Adam's last car ride as a single man!!

Tanner wanted Peyton to ride with him to the reception and they shared a snack of Fruit Loops and Nutter Butters on the way!!
The Best Man was exhausted from doing such a great job all day long so he took a little nap in the car!!

Our family at the reception.

Me & TanMan sharing a pretzel stick!!

Because of all the wedding festivities that me and Scotty were involved in, we let Tanner spend the night with my parents. It was our first time away from each other in 19 months!! Then they brought him to the wedding the next day. It was a little rocky, but all three of us did ok. Granna & Papaw, on the other hand, were a little tired!! I told them not to expect a sleeper and I'm not sure they believed me until Tanner woke up around 11pm and kept them up til 3am!! Dad said at 1:15am, he just popped a bowl of popcorn!!

Coloring at the reception.

Adam snagged a Yoohoo from the kid's table!! Scotty got Tanner one too because he's the best Dad Ever!!

A little wedding grub!! Yummy!!

Once again thanks to my parents for letting us use the music equipment for the Rehearsal Dinner and for having a Slumber (well maybe not) Party with Tanner so we could join in all the Wedding Weekend Festivities!! Love ya'll!!
